Romania is a state without independence and sovereignty, attributes of a state governed by the rule of law that were gradually ceded to foreign powers when it joined NATO and the European Union.

The conflict of military interests and the interests of civil society is obvious and known.

However, the constant manipulation of the press and television led to the division of citizens in two parts, one for each side of the conflict in Ukraine. The word that bothers both parts in Romania is PEACE.

This is the reason why the anti-war protests organized in the country’s capital, Bucharest, lack the power of numbers and notable effects.

Unfortunately, we find that even in countries where thousands or tens of thousands of citizens participate in the protests, they fail to brake or stop the governments from their mission to fuel the war in Ukraine with weapons and ammunition, to allow its escalation in the near future.

Analysing with concern the evolution of the international situation, presented by the International European Liaison Committee, by the articles published in Information Ouvrieres, by the labour organizations or militants against the war, we reach the clear conclusion that the war is wanted and maintained by political forces subordinate to those who produce and trade weapons of death.

They are the ones who worldwide prohibit the first and most fundamental human right: the right to life.

Of course, every person is scared by the possibility of the country’s involvement in a military conflict. THIS fear hides under the false impression that it cannot happen to him and his country. Nothing can be more wrong than thinking this way

We all see that we are witnessing the final phase of the existence of capitalism which needs a continuous expansion to survive, to conquer new territories, nations and natural resources. For this he uses all the forces and means at his disposal.

The representatives and supporters of the cause of the working class throughout the world have the duty to oppose war, wherever this war is, to prohibit the loss of human life, the shedding of blood.

Romania is already being assaulted by occupation troops from other countries, how else can we call these soldiers who are on our territory in peacetime?

It is said that these soldiers will defend Romania.

We respond to this stupid justification by stating and asking the politicians that we do not want to be attacked, we are not interested in any way in these fiction and ineffective defences. We want Romania’s politics to return to the international standards it had before the overthrow of the previous regime: we want peace and friendship with all countries and peoples.

Unfortunately, there is no left political option in Romania, the only honest form of representation of the working class at the decision-making level.

Our governors think differently, they do not represent us, they do not decide on our behalf, they have different interests

The largest military base in Europe is being built near the Black Sea and the borders of the Russian Federation. I’m talking about a military city that will host 10,000 soldiers, not including family members.

We are worried about these preparations for an escalation of military operations in this area and we appreciate that it is only a matter of time until Romania will be part of this war that will not have any winners.

History shows us how it was the Working Class that bore the cost of armaments, that saw men on the battlefields, that bore the tragedy of families torn apart or destroyed altogether

We must stop this madness!

We must stop the massacre that continues in Gaza under the fire of the Israeli army and the coordination of the criminal Netanyahu.

What exactly do we want?

We say:

• NO to capitalism
• NO to militarism
• NO for NATO
• NO for the European Union that wants to become a militarized European state
• YES for peace
• YES for the ceasefire in Ukraine
• YES to the liberation of Palestine and recover occupied Arab territories.
